IDEA opened a facility in the Rhône-Alpes region
IDEA is an independent industrial supply-chain contractor (44) and opened a facility in the Rhône-Alpes region in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier (38) to join forces with Radiall, manufacturer of interconnection solutions. On this new specific site, IDEA provides logistics services for the manufacturer downstream of production, mainly for national and international shipments. IDEA now has 59 sites in France.
TAILOR-MADE LOGISTICS PLATEFORM…
IDEA’s new site is located in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier - home to one of Europe’s largest logistics zones - and has been specifically designed to provide logistics services close to Radiall's two production sites (Voreppe and Saint-Quentin-Fallavier).
The result is a secure warehouse with 3,500 storage spaces and a picking area for several hundred shipping lines on average per day. This is a strategic geographical location for Radiall, as the new platform guarantees on-time delivery of the parts.
Radiall has chosen IDEA to manage the downstream logistics of its interconnection solutions. In order to ensure complex flows, IDEA has deployed a tailored solution for receiving parts of all sizes, mainly from countries where Radiall subsidiaries are located, including China, India, Mexico and the United States.
IDEA’s services also include management of customs bonded storage, packaging and shipping of parts requiring customs formalities for shipment to the manufacturer's end customers, anywhere in the world.
The IDEA team was recruited in the local area, and entirely dedicated to these logistics platforms. They work jointly and in full confidence with the Radiall teams.
MULTIPLE SERVICES DOWNSTREAM OF production
- Reception of finished products including unloading, receiving data processing and grouping;
- Stock management and inventories;
- Domestic or international shipment including preparation, inspections and loading;
- Management of bonded goods.
… FOR A CLOSE PARTNERSHIP
Radiall initially had two major requirements :
- logistics platform close to the production plants and Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport in order to facilitate and accelerate international shipments,
- join forces with an AEO* certified logistics partner, sufficiently qualified to manage both shipments worldwide and customs formalities linked to international flows.
The transport of parts and the packaging of finished products are now optimised by grouping these activities on a single IDEA shipment platform.

DATA MONITORING AS A PERFORMANCE LEVER
IDEA is currently developing a Business Intelligence tool for activity management, capable of retrieving the customer’s ERP data, thus enabling the team to know the progress status of the activity and to anticipate future missions.

It also broadens expertise in the telecommunications and high-reliability connectivity sector. IDEA is present in the logistics sector for the optical fibre industry in the Northern region and antenna industry in the Western region of France.
